Hedland Senior High School Teacher of the Year Award 2017

Hedland Senior High School teacher James Renner has been awarded the inaugural Hedland SHS Teacher of the Year award for 2017. Mr Renner teaches the Trade Training Centre program at Hedland Senior High School, and has seen the workshop become an industry-class facility offering students a rigorous pre-apprenticeship program. Mr Renner received a flight voucher, donated by the Port Hedland International Airport. Congratulations!

The Hedland Art Awards is one of Western Australia's most prestigious regional art awards, with a total cash prize pool of overt $100,000. Celebrating ten years of the Hedland Art Awards is a significant milestone for FORM and the Port Hedland Courthouse Gallery. Port Hedland International Airport is pleased to be part of these celebrations.

Port Hedland International Airport was a proud sponsor of the 2016 North West Pilbara Weekender and the presenting sponsor of the 2016 North West Fringe event program.

The Airport Operations team and had a pop-up display at The West End Markets. Hundreds of marketgoers stopped by to enjoy shade and travel-talk. 190 people completed a destination quiz and survey and entered the draw to win a luggage set valued at $997.

The Quiz showcased a selection of international destinations that Pilbara residents can travel to from Port Hedland International Airport, via Bali on a Saturday. This included Bali for Sunset drinks, Singapore for a late supper, London for a brit-breakfast and New York for lunch and shopping on Sunday.

The community feedback was strong, visitors shared their experiences of travelling to exotic holiday locations from Port Hedland, using Bali transit connections and stopovers.

PHIA Group Chairman of the Board the Hon. Cheryl Edwardes drew the lucky entrant at the Port Hedland International Airport.

Congratulations! Dawn Kahler was the winner of the Paklite Luggage Collection valued at $997.

Dawn said the first excursion for her new luggage could be the United Kingdom, New Zealand or a family wedding in Russia.
