PHIA Group of Companies (PHIA Group) purchased the operating lease for Port Hedland International Airport in March 2016 to operate the airport for 50 years. PHIA Group are preeminent Australian infrastructure investors, managed by Dexus and Foresight Group.

Port Hedland International Airport (PHIA) is centrally located Australia's North West and the only International Airport in the Pilbara region. PHIA provides links to the world's largest iron ore export port and major oil and gas fields. PHIA has an established heliport with direct connections via Denpasar, Perth and Brisbane.

PHIA is a primary air transport node, welcoming more than 500,000 passengers each year, supporting the mobilisation of FIFO workforces and vital connectivity for the people of the Pilbara, for leisure, business, health and well-being.

The hub is home to the area's only bulk haulage precinct, international freight services, charter and flight training facilities, a dedicated Heliport fixed base operation, Port Hedland School of the Air and the region’s Royal Flying Doctor Service.
