Improvement Works Continue at Port Hedland International Airport

16 September 2015

Business as usual continues at Port Hedland International Airport with upgrades to provide a better user experience continuing.

Airport users, passengers and contractors are advised that construction of a shade structure at the entrance to the airport terminal building will commence tomorrow morning, Thursday 17 September.

Due to the installation of this shade structure that will run alongside the front of the terminal, the car drop-off and pick-up zone will be closed from Thursday 17 – Friday 19 September.

There will be an alternative zone available for drop off and pick up by passengers and customers.

Town of Port Hedland Officers will be on hand to assist with parking, delivery access and traffic management as required.

It is anticipated that the construction of the shade structure will be completed by 30 September 2015.

Meanwhile a $500,000 upgrade of airport security fencing continues with fencing around terminal buildings and airside area ongoing.

Airport users are also advised that a new toilet block will be constructed in International Arrivals and maintenance works to domestic arrival toilet facilities will get underway at the start of October.
