Residents who are passionate about aviation and the transformation of the Port Hedland International Airport are encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) for Port Hedland International Airport Committee.
There is a vacancy in the committee for a community representative and all interested community members are invited to apply.
The primary role of the airport committee is to provide input and guidance towards the growth of the PHIA, ensuring it becomes the leading tourism, freight and commercial hub of the North West.
Other duties include:
- Oversight of the implementation of key initiatives identified in the Airport Master Plan
- Actively pursue commercial opportunities and expansion of offerings at the Port Hedland International Airport
- Contribute to the Port Hedland International Redevelopment program
The Airport Committee has statutory roles under the Local Government Act and is able to make decisions on the future of the airport.
The Airport Committee meet on a bi-monthly basis on the first Wednesday of each month.
