Free Welcome Wi-Fi is available to all passengers and visitors to Port Hedland International Airport as part of the Town of Port Hedland’s partnership with the Pilbara Regional Council.
Town of Port Hedland Mayor Kelly Howlett was pleased that Port Hedland’s airport was now able to offer free Wi-Fi to those using the terminal facilities, bringing services offered at the airport in line with others across Australia.
“I am delighted to announce that complimentary Wi-Fi is now available to passengers at Port Hedland International Airport” said Mayor Howlett
“Welcome Wi-Fi is a joint initiative of the Pilbara local governments, provided free of charge for residents and visitors and made available to our airport through the Town of Port Hedland in conjunction with Pilbara Regional Council.
“Wi-Fi Availability signage is being rolled out within the terminal to advise travellers that they can log on and guests are invited to join the Welcome Wi-Fi on their devices.
“Our airport staff will be able to assist anyone having difficulty logging on”.
Meanwhile minor process improvements continue to be instilled at Port Hedland International Airport with an oversize baggage drop-off point established in the departures terminal for customer convenience.
Customers travelling with oversize baggage will be able to drop off checked-in items at a dedicated zone adjacent to the coffee cart within the departures terminal, which will ensure a speedier check in process for all and a better experience at our airport.
Painting of the terminal façade will commence this week prior to the installation of public art to the front of the airport building.
These initiatives are part the airport’s improvement program to build a bigger terminal for more passengers and offer a better customer experience.
